Stealing all three points with a late penalty coolly converted by substitute Madueke, Chelsea recover from letting a lead slip to beat Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. A 12th straight league defeat of the Eagles matches their record run of victories against any club, and more importantly eases the pressure on Pochettino's young squad. The hosts had most of the ball throughout, but Eze and Olise were often a threat for Palace, with the latter sweeping in their equaliser shortly before the break after Mudryk had opened the scoring. Chelsea found a way to win it, though, and will wrap up their 2023 schedule by visiting Luton Town at the weekend; meanwhile, Palace - who have now conceded in the 80th minute or beyond in six of their past eight Premier League games - host local rivals Brentford on Saturday.
